Welcome to my Blog

Welcome to my blog! Sheryl, our Web guru, created this page for me, so here goes. I have no idea how to do this yet, but the teens said it's like an online diary. Some background information, I run a dog rescue organization out of Framingham/Wayland, MA called Save A Dog, so most of my blogging will be about Save A Dog. I'm also a student of homeopathy and am enrolled in my second year at Teleosis School of Homeopathy. We have several holistic vets who care for our dogs, so it's been an eye-opening and exciting experience to see how well alternative medicine works. We've adapted our medical protocol for our foster dogs to receive holistic care as the main method of treatment. I've seen first-hand so many dogs benefit from homeopathy and acupuncture, as well as a change in diet with supplements and fish oils added. I've also seen many dogs harmed by rimadyl, prednisone and all the synthetic drugs that traditional medicine has to offer, so I try to steer our adopters towards the more holistic route. It's a process that doesn't always happen overnight because we've all been trained to think one way our whole lives and we get used to the "quick fix" that a lot of these drugs provide, only to end up dealing more serious illnesses later. I could tell you story after story because I talk to people every day who have lost a pet after receiving some of these drugs. It's heartbreaking on the one hand, and on the other hand it's encouraging to see people go a different route with medical care after "learning the hard way" through the premature death of a pet who has been loaded up with chemicals. Anyway, this is a not-so-brief introduction to what's on my heart these days. If you have a pet, dog or cat, a good Web site to look at is http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/. No relation to me, sorry, but a wonderfully informative, sometimes radical, Web site introducing you to the road to health for your pet. Thanks for listening.
